Method

Why we ignore inflated authority metrics

Most expired domains look better in auction dashboards than they really are. Raw backlink counts can hide scraper links, comment spam, dead pages, redirects, and cheap DR manipulation. We care about the links that would actually be hard to replace.

Our baseline review uses Best Links-style criteria: in-content, dofollow links from referring domains with DR20+ and 500+ organic traffic. That gives us a cleaner view of real editorial equity than raw DR or referring-domain volume.

Noisy auction-board signals

  • 5,000 raw backlinks
  • Inflated DR
  • Sitewide, sidebar, footer links
  • Dead referring domains
  • No traffic
  • Spam anchors

What we actually weight

  • 30 - 200 qualified Best Links
  • In-content editorial mentions
  • Dofollow
  • DR20+ referring domains
  • 500+ traffic on the linker
  • Real publications and institutions

Economics

Why aged authority can beat retail link buying

A standard editorial placement can cost $300 - $500. Links from household publications, universities, national media, and trusted institutions are often far more expensive, and sometimes not realistically available to buy at all.

A strong aged domain can contain years of accumulated editorial real estate in a single asset. When acquired correctly, the effective cost per qualified Best Link can be materially lower than buying equivalent authority one placement at a time.

Qualified Best Links × Replacement Cost = Link Equity Replacement Value

84 qualified Best Links × conservative $300 replacement value = $25,200 estimated replacement value

Replacement value is an internal underwriting estimate, not a guarantee of resale value, ranking outcome, or revenue.

Acquisition

Acquisition criteria informed by live SERPs

Our AI agents monitor competitive commercial search results to identify the link profiles, domain histories, and authority patterns currently winning in difficult niches. That research feeds our acquisition process.

We are not buying domains because they look impressive in a dashboard. We are looking for assets that resemble the authority profiles already working in high-value SERPs across regulated and semi-regulated verticals, competitive finance, lead-generation, and enterprise SEO campaigns.

Discipline

Most aged domains do not make the inventory

We reject far more domains than we buy.

  • Inflated DR from cheap link spam
  • Thousands of irrelevant scraper links
  • No meaningful in-content editorial links
  • Dead or deindexed referring domains
  • Obvious pharma / adult / abuse history
  • Toxic anchor profile
  • No practical deployment angle
  • Wayback history that does not support trust
  • Domains that look good in auctions but fail qualitative review
